62 Doors is proud to present Stay with Me, Go Places, a Senior Art Exhibition by MSU students Max Patzner & Bethany Leyrer.

Opening Reception: Friday, April 13, 2012 from 8 pm to 1 am
With special musical guests: The Morning Red, Roughriders with Kentucky Jelly, & Spookey Tarts

The exhibit will be open April 14 –May 11 during 62 Doors’ regular hours: Thur-Fri-Sat, 1-6 pm.

Art in the Dark 7

Our 7th annual Art in the Dark Show opens on Saturday, October 29 at 7 pm!

Featuring art that lights up, glows in the dark or looks great in low light……art that’s always unusual, always amazing, and always fun!

It’s also the weekend before Halloween….ooooooohhhhh! So, although it’s not required, please feel free to wear your costumes to the show. Seriously, when else do you get to walk around a public place dressed like a giant banana?

Deadline for entering artwork into the show is Saturday, October 22 at 6 pm. Work can be done in any medium, any size……as long is it glows in black light, lights up on its own, or looks good in low light.

NOTSTOCK Returns!

NOTSTOCK returns for 3 days of live arts and music at Minot State University, October 6th-8th, 2011!

This year’s event will celebrate the relationship between words and pictures in comics, poster art, books, zines and any medium where words and pictures collide to create meaning in culture. This year’s family-friendly event includes artists Landland, Dave DeVries, and DWITT; bookseller/publisher/writer Chloe Eudaly of Reading Frenzy; local musicians; and more!

Most of the events of this 3-day festival will be held in MSU’s Beaver Dam. However, there will also be a variety of other venues over the course of the event…like a little place we like to call 62 Doors! We are honored to once again host the NOTSTOCK closing reception, which has proven to be a crazy fun time each year! Join us for food, drinks, music and the chance to mingle with the artists at 7 pm on Saturday, Oct. 8th. We’ll also have work from the guest artists on display at the gallery.

Essence of A Woman

Minot State University art student Ashley Duchsherer will present her senior capstone exhibition, “Essence of a Woman,” July 16through Aug. 6 at 62 Doors. The opening reception is July 16 from 7 to 9 pm.

Duchsherer is a photography major at MSU. In a series of photographs, she uses natural lighting and the representation of Mother Nature to show the essence of a woman.

“My inspiration for this series stemmed from my love of nature. I hope the viewer sees my photographs, has an instant connection to the subject and an unexpected wonder and curiosity that inspire a desire to interact with the subject,” said Duchsherer.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

Floor to ceiling yummy rummage sale madness.….quite possibly the largest/best collection of priceless treasures and unquestionably amazing stuff you can’t live without! We have so much stuff it’s overwhelmingly exciting! And every sentence we write to describe it must have an exclamation point! It’s that awesome!

We’re doing it anyway……you gotta come see this!
We’re open on Friday, June 24th from 9 am-6 pm and again on Saturday, June 25th from 9 am-6pm!

See you there…..come early and often, new stuff will be put out as the day progresses!

Huey Lewis totally new what he was talking about…it IS hip to be square! And just to prove it, we’re having a show all about squares! All artwork must be SQUARE…no trapezoids, circles, octagons, or amorphous blobs. Are you up for the challenge?
